Are There Too Many Bingo Ads on TV?

Last week I came down with the flu, and as a result spent a vast majority of time snuggled up under my duvet watching daytime television.

One thing I noticed that I had not previously, was the sheer number of advertisements for online bingo sites. I could simply not escape them!

Now maybe it is because I work in online bingo that they stand out, but I am pretty sure that not one ad break went by without at least one bingo site being featured. Sometimes there were more than one.

It left me thinking that perhaps people are starting to get blind to the bingo ads in the same way as people get blind to the sofa sale adverts you see every 5 minutes.

Now we all know there is a sale on at the weekend that “must end Sunday” but then starts up again the following week.

Is the same thing in danger of happening to online bingo where people know that they can get “£10 free play” etc, as it is practically the same message on all these ads.

Very rarely does anyone do anything different.

However, I did spot one advert that made me chuckle and it was this one from Robin Hood Bingo.

I always loved the Robin Hood parody film, Men In Tights, and this ad clearly had that as it’s inspiration.

This week I met up with the guys over at FreeBingo.co.uk and we got to talking about where their players were located across the UK.

They said they weren’t sure but would dig out the stats for us, and they duly obliged with some interesting results.

Now the bigger cities are near the top as you would expect, but the remainder are very much spread up and down the country, with no great North / South divide as you may think bingo may have.

Saying that, the top 10 does have 7 Northern cities in it so you could argue that online bingo is more popular up North.
